So um how do you make these?
WELL. I draw directly into adobe illustrator with my Wacom Bamboo. From there I export as a 300DPI PNG, then in Photoshop I resize to 650px & export it as a 128 colour gif - or a jpg if it has alot of photos in it.
Wait I tried to put images this big on my blogging account and it was all “No way your images are too big”
Ah the trick is not to upload the images using your blogging software, eiher get them hosted with someone like flickr or do what I do and FTP them up to your own server. Then just reference the image like <img src=”http://www.dayinpictures.co.uk/images/jews.gif” alt=”" />
I have a bad eye for design so I would love to use the same theme as you.
My theme is based on sandbox which is a plain theme & I have used my super CSS skills to make it look like the plain, obviously designed by a coder yawnathon you see before you.
Doesn’t it take ages?
It usually takes the longest when I am in a dull mood and I can’t get the ideas out. A normal blog will take 30mins - 1 hour, but strips can take much longer.
Surely you don’t make a living from this
Nah, I work as a front-end web developer - I do all XHTML, CSS, accessibility, W3c, & javascript - also a smattering of SQL, PHP & ASP. I’m really experienced & really good to boot. I work full time at the moment but at the beginning to July I am going to be traveling around the US & Canada, perhaps you’d like to give me some work?? PLEASE.
