    yah, in the maritimes you can order fish and chips and get, err… fish and chips! (not crisps) e.g. Fred`s nr. Cap Pele, NB… :)

    Somebody at that restaurant is retarded. I’m a southern California native (far from UK, Canada, etc.) and even here, everyone knows what “fish & chips” means. I hope when you sent back the other chips (crisps) you banged on a few pots.
