(note) day in words

Hello,

You probably noticed I didn’t do a doodle-blog last night as really nothing at all happened that was worth blogging about “That’s never stopped you before!” I hear you cry. I was thinking would anyone have any objection - or do you think it would break the ‘brand’ if I typed my blogs very occasionally when it’s not possible for me to doodle? OR do you think I should start another blog for my words? I think my dayinpictures are way too wordy sometimes so maybe if I did a word blog as well, I could filter all the more cartoony stuff into ‘dip’ - I don’t know, it’s all an experiment. Please let me know!

Anyway, yesterday I was listening to radio 4 (I don’t usually, i hate the radio) but I do like a bit of radio 4 when I am cooking - which I wasn’t really, i was more cleaning & Borja offered to cook & I was only too happy to let him. My mum always said ‘I’d rather cook than clean’ but then again she also always said ‘if you hit me your hands will grow out of your grave’ - just before she hit me. I wonder if she meant just her? So this program was about the whole genome project - you know, should we use gene therapy to eradicate illness from babies ETC - Ooo but won’t that mean designer babies, what about the gay gene? So there was the obligatory scientist with his ‘imagine a world without disease and criminals and ugly people’ (with undertones of AND I CONTROL IT ALL!!) Then the disabled rights guy comes on and he’s all “But without disability there would be no Beethoven & Steven Hawking” Well uh, maybe there would but they wouldn’t have been disabled, maybe if Beethoven could hear he would have finished a damn symphony! maybe if Hawking wasn’t trapped inside a skin prison & spoke like a robot - he still would have written a brief history of time AND he wouldn’t have been abused by his wife, he probably would have had a better wife or at least he could have fought back. His argument was that people don’t realise the quality of life disabled people have, that they assume they must be miserable and wish they were normal but they are really awesome. The presenter then posed the question - what about those kids that have that condition where their skin falls off all the time and they live and die in complete agony - is that what you want? IS IT? Here’s one now, in the studio - shake his hand - NOW HIS HANDS FALLEN OFF AND YOU MADE IT HAPPEN. Well, it was along those lines anyway, but the guy I have to say had no answer whatsoever, poor bloke he was completely stumped.

Bike geeks: I am now forced to ride my bike fixed wheel, I was going to anyway eventually but I haven’t had any practice yet. I had a little go tonight but it was pissing down - I didn’t feel very confident. It’s going to be an interesting ride tomorrow.

**very important**
Some very good friends of mine are classical musicians & singers in London’s Covent Garden. Anyway the big bosses of london are threatening to build a big smelly shopping centre right on top of where they perform, not only crushing them - but putting them all out of a job, and let’s face it, they aren’t going to much use anywhere else.

So please, whether you care or not - I implore you to sign this petition & get all your mates to as well. Thanks xxx [link]
